The Sibsagar College, Sivasagar, is an educational institution founded in the year 1947. The college is said to be one of the premier educational institutions in Sivasagar, Assam. The institution is co-educational with an affiliation to Dibrugarh University and is NAAC graded A. The campus covers 34 acres. Sibsagar College offers 26 courses in 7 degrees. In total, there are 2014 students, with an evenly distributed number of 1014 boys and 1000 girls. The institute has a faculty strength of 93 members to ensure quality education and individual attention. Sibsagar College specialises in courses in Arts, Science, and Education at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. 

The Sibsagar College has a variety of facilities to make the students' learning experience fruitful. The student intake in the college, for all courses put together, comes to the figure of 1,598. The undergraduate courses were attended by 90% of them and the postgraduate courses by 10%. Of the 21 subjects, a few worth mentioning would be English, Assamese, Economics, Political Science, History, Philosophy, Education, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Zoology, Botany, Geology, Statistics, Computer Science, and Electronics.

The Sibsagar College admission procedure is primarily merit-based, based on the marks secured in the qualifying examination. Entrance test or other selection processes for some courses can be conducted subject to the reservation policies of the state government and the university. Applications to undergraduate programmes are considered after the declaration of 10+2 results. Candidates who have completed their bachelor's degree are eligible for postgraduate courses.
