Sidramappa Danigond Memorial Trust’s Danigond Ayurvedic Medical College & Padma Ayurvedic Hospital and Research Centre, Bagalkot, is a reputated institute involved in the field of Ayurveda education & health care. This affiliated college was set up in 2005 and it is located at Terdal, Taluk Jamakhandi, Bagalkot, Karnataka. CCIM recognized institute along with/ayurveda, bachelor of Ayurveda, medicine and surgery, diploma/degree in Ayurveda, yoga, certificate courses/ ayurveda courses. Situated on the campus area of 10 acres, the college offers total student enrollment capacity of 460 and total faculty strength 59. Currently with nine courses under three degree programmes the institute offers specializations in different fields of Ayurvedic sciences for both graduate and postgraduate studies.

Sidramappa Danigond Memorial Trust’s Danigond Ayurvedic Medical College & Padma Ayurvedic Hospital and Research Centre has practical learning intention and aims to have a positive learning environment with accurate facilities. The school has well faculty rooms equipped with audio visual teaching aids like OHP and LCD PROJECTORS. The library has a collection of more than 3000 books, clinical videocassettes & CD-ROMs and digital library to connect students with different medical sites. The institution boasts of having a 200 bed hospital, & it has Out Patient Departments specializing in different fields like Kaya Chikitsa, Shalya Tantra, & Shalakya Tantra. The hospital has its male and female wards as well as the semi-special and special rooms, laboratory, as well as X-ray departments. To maintain an integrated approach to students’ development, the college provides the students with sports facilities and gym and has access to the Internet throughout the campus.

The institute provides a wide variety of courses some of which are the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) and several masters/ doctoral degrees. The BAMS programme has an approved intake of 50 seats, the MD programmes in fields such as Agad Tantra have an intake of 5 seats and Swasthavritta has an intake of 3 to 5 seat. All programmes are offered on full-time basis to allow for vast coverages within the set times. Another specialty of the college is Masters degree in Shalya Tantra and Prasooti Tantra and Stree Roga though no figures of the number of students taken for these courses are given. In all, the institute offers 9 courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, which confirms the institute’s policy of offering a full package of Ayurvedic training.

At Sidramappa Danigond Memorial Trust’s Danigond Ayurvedic Medical College, students are offered admission mainly through the national level entrance tests. For the BAMS programme the admission process is carried out based on qualified scores of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). There is the All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET) in conjunction with the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post Graduate (NEET PG) for candidates seeking admittance to MD and MS programmes in the public and private sectors. These exams make it easy for admission of students who produce quality performance levels that meet nationwide competetion. Though the details of the scholarships are not available, the institute probably offers several scholarships for deserving and or low income students.
