Silapathar College, Dhemaji: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Silapathar College, Dhemaji was established in 1979 and is a co-educational institution. The college has an affiliation to Silapathar, Assam and offers UG programmes in both arts and science streams. The campus is very vast, occupying 11.41 acres of land, with total student strength of 897 maintaining a balanced gender ratio among the students, with 44% and 56%, respectively, male and female students. It has a faculty of 39 dedicated teachers imparting knowledge in 17 courses among 5 degree programmes. Silapathar College also has special achievements in many disciplines, namely Assamese, English, Political Science, and Zoology. 

The learning environment is enhanced by facilities like the well-stocked library, well-equipped laboratories, and smart classrooms with ICT facilities. The campus has the multi-purpose gymnasium constructed out of UGC Sports Infrastructure Grants for encouraging physical fitness and health. The college has a Girls' Hostel with sufficient amenities for the girl students. The college maintains a Health Care Centre with the minimum infrastructural facilities, a part-time physician and a nurse, and extends the treatment of first aid as and when necessary to the students. Silapathar College has upped its game to move along with the digital era by realising digital classrooms in the college, partially replacing the method of teaching to traditional ones to benefit the students in this technologically driven era. 

The Silapathar College is an undergraduate college where 17 courses are offered for the students at this institution. This includes full-time BA courses and B.Sc courses covering various specialisations. All its courses put together can enroll 571 students.

Admission to Silapathar College is mainly on merit procedure to ensure that such merit-based candidates get a chance in the field they wish to.
