Sinhgad Dental College and Hospital was established in the year 2006. One of the premier institutions in the region, a light that illuminates dental education, is located in Pune, Maharashtra. The institute offers the following courses in dentistry, namely: Undergraduate BDS and nine specializations at postgraduate level MDS. All the programs offered are regular full-time ones. Admissions to SDCH are strict and transparent based on State and National guidelines. The admission to the first-year BDS course will be based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test conducted by the National Testing Agency - NEET-UG. Admissions are centrally carried out by the Directorate of Medical Education and Research, Maharashtra. 15% of the total seats in concerned courses are reserved for NRI quota admission whereas 85% are filled purely based on discretion of the DMER rounds keeping into consideration constitutional reservation policies. For postgraduate courses, the admission is done as per NEET-MDS as per Dentistry Council of India. The institute level vacant seat round is conducted by the college itself to fill up the vacant seats created by students after the centralised admission process.

Sinhgad Dental College and Hospital, Pune Admission

Sinhgad Dental College and Hospital (SDCH), Pune, is a premier dental institution affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik, and approved by the Dental Council of India (DCI). The admission cycle for SDCH usually coincides with the national entrance examination schedules. For undergraduate admissions, NEET-UG scores are considered, and for postgraduate admissions, NEET-MDS scores are considered. The Directorate of Medical Education and Research, Maharashtra, centrally conducts the admission process for 85% of the seats, strictly following constitutional reservation policies. The remaining 15% of seats are reserved for NRI quota admissions.

Candidates applying for BDS must have a 10+2 qualification with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects. For the MDS program, candidates must hold a BDS degree from a recognized institute. The specializations may carry specific eligibility requirements as per the norms of DCI.

All NEET-UG and NEET-MDS entrance exam dates are released by National Testing Agency or the National Board of Examination. Students waiting to get selected into their aspiring institutions have an after-the-examination procedure of Application followed by counseling and admission. For state-wise admission, dates are released from DMER Maharashtra.

Application Process

The application process for Sinhgad Dental College and Hospital, Pune, is as follows:

2. Score Release: Wait for the release of NEET scores by NTA.

3. State-Level Application:

4. Document Verification

5. Counseling and Seat Allotment

  • Attend counseling rounds that takes place conducted by DMER.
  • Choose SDCH and select the desired BDS or MDS specialization according to merit rank, seat availability

6. Confirmation of Admission

  • If a seat has been allotted then report to the Sinhgad Dental College and Hospital before the stipulated time. Submit all the documentations and remit the required fee at the college.

7. Institute level round (as applicable)

  • As there are some more seats left then institute level will conduct admission for the remaining number of seats under the centralized round by SDCH.
  • The eligible candidate can apply for this round of counselling process by the date schedule by the respective college.

Degree Wise Admission Process

BDS: SDCH has 100 seats for the 5-year BDS course. The admission is given based on the NEET-UG scores followed by the centralized admission process carried out by DMER, Maharashtra. The total fee for BDS is around Rs. 2,420,000.

MDS (Master of Dental Surgery): The college offers 24 seats in 9 specializations in MDS. The duration of the program is 3 years. Admission is through NEET-MDS scores. The total fee for MDS programs is around Rs. 1,779,000. The specializations offered are as follows:

  2. Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics (3 seats)
  3. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (3 seats)
  4. Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics (3 seats)

For each MDS specialization, candidates must qualify in NEET-MDS and participate in the counseling process conducted by DMER, Maharashtra.

College Infrastructure

Infrastructure is good. The college is cleaned and disinfected regularly. The classroom consists of a board as well as a projector and has ACs. The college has a separate library which is open at weekdays and campus has one which is open 24/7. The labs are well equipped and well maintained. Mess are available for boys and girls. The meal is good.

Its the best dental college and the staff is also very good.

Taking admission in BDS course in this college candidate has to qualify Neet ug exam and have 50% marks in HS science with physics chemistry and biology and English. The management quota fees is higher than the normal fees for BDS course in Sinhgad dental College Pune. Is per BDS course in this colleges more than 16 lacs in total.
