Sitaram and Lady Shantabai Patkar College of Arts and Science and V. P. Varde College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai was founded in the year 1964. It is one of the most well-known autonomous institutions located in Goregaon West, Mumbai. The NAAC accredited college offers very diversified programs across Arts, Science, and Commerce. This institute has a sprawling campus of 2.916 acres, with a total student enrollment of 5,272 and a faculty strength of 105. There are 40 courses across 10 degree programs that cater to various specializations.

The process of admission differs according to the different courses offered at Sir Sitaram and Lady Shantabai Patkar College. In the case of most UG programs, admission is based on merit, which depends on the marks scored in the qualifying examination. Some courses are specialized, like B.Sc Data Science and Business Analytics, which requires candidates to either clear a Quantitative Aptitude Test or score 75% or more in their previous qualification. In the case of postgraduate programs such as M.Sc Bioinformatics, an entrance test and a personal interview are conducted, and the candidates have to secure at least 50% marks in the entrance examination.
