SKBR Government Degree College was established in 1966. It is an affiliated, coeducational college accredited by NAAC. The institute offers many undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The institute sprawls over an area of 54 acres and has a total enrolment of 319 students. There are 11 faculty members to assist these students. The institute offers 16 courses under 4 streams: Science, Commerce, and Arts, among others. The college has a gender ratio of 3:1, male to female, with 352 males and 120 females, which very suitably depicts the ideology of inclusive education. 

This institution houses a number of modern facilities which amply support the learning process of students on this campus. There are two well-maintained computer laboratories with 50 computers providing LAN and internet connectivity. There is also a library which is like a treasure house of knowledge with nearly 30,000 books on various subjects. The INFLIBNET SOUL package is operational here for effective cataloging. The sports-minded students have a five-acre playground for outdoor games like cricket, ball badminton, and volleyball, besides indoor games facilities for games like table tennis, chess, and caroms. It also consists of a gym, in which separate facilities are available for men and women in order to spend time on the wellness of physical fitness. 

SKBR Government Degree College has numerous academic courses. The institute imparts 16 courses in undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The undergraduate three-year full time courses offered are B.Com in Computer Applications, B. Sc in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, B.Sc in Computer Science, and B.A in History, Economics and Political Science. It offers two-year full-time post graduate courses for M. Sc in Chemistry, Mathematics, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Computer Science, and Data Science.
