Smriti College of Pharmaceutical Education, Indore: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

It is a well –known institution that was set up in 1999 in the name of Smriti College of Pharmaceutical Education (SCOPE) is situated in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. This co-educational college recognizes programs in Pharmaceutical education with affiliation to the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). SCOPE, spread in a 1.6 acre is a small but leading institution in the field of pharmacy education. The college currently holds 295 students enrolled including 215 males and 84 females meaning that the colleged conducts its learning in an environment that is fairly sensitive to diversity. Drawing 27 dedicated faculty members, the student per faculty ration at SCOPE is most favourable and this greatly favours adherence to global standards of education delivery.

To this end, SCOPE is proud of boasting some extra facilities that doubles the student-learning process. The college houses Resource Centre/ Library, which contains up to date pharmaceutical literature and research information. For the practical sessions of different program offered at SCOPE, the college is equipped with sophisticated laboratories that covers the requirements of different field of pharmacy education. 

There is also a facility of an auditorium that is used to host all events including seminars thus enabling the achievement of intellectual development. Student, therefore, can access sporting facilities in order to balance work and play. In the following aspect of the college’s IT structure, students are only exposed to updated technologies practiced in the field. A canteen in the school compound provides additional fellowships and a place to get a snack. 

To promote student health, SCOPE also has a health centre which includes first aid services. Another environmental element of the college reflects the college commitment towards students’ future employment opportunities, supporting campus visits and organizing recruitment procedures with relevant companies as the training and placement cell.

With regards academic teachings, SCOPE offers two extensive courses in the sphere of a pharmacy. The college has a four year undergraduatecourse in Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma) and the postgraduate course is a two year Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharma) in pharmaceutics. Both these programs are complete course and full time courses which make prepare students as per the need of the pharma industry with complete insight knowledge and practical knowledge which is required for the good job. There is a limit approved to admit 100 students for B.Pharma, and 12 seat are available for M.Pharma Pharmaceutics which can provide more of a specialised concentration at post graduate level.

The process of admission will be all inclusive, while the selection will be on merit. However, no information is availed regarding its admission process; but it is also known that for the B.Pharma program admission is based on score card of 10+2 level in relevant subjects and the performance in the entrance test. The Pharmaceutics program leading to the Award of M.Pharma is in contrast to some of the schools, which has a structured and spelled out GPAT admission process. 

This is a conditional national entrance examination which is very vital for anybody wishing to pursue postgraduate studies in Pharmacy. The recent decision by SCOPE to accept GPAT scores also put emphasis that it wanted to enroll students who had immense knowledge about pharmaceutical sciences.
