Smt. BCJ College of Education, Khambhat began its journey in the year 1969 as one of the premier educational institutions in Gujarat, India. It is a co-educational college that offers degrees in Education affiliated with Sardar Patel University and duly approved by NAAC. The college is recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education, New Delhi. It operates from a sprawling campus area of 9 acres with an enrolment of 103 students and a faculty of 5 members.

Smt. BCJ College of Education also has a range of student facilities that add to the learning experience. The school has a well-stocked library containing approximately 5,000 books, periodicals, and news bulletins. Among other facilities are the quiet study and research areas. The other facilities include modern laboratories, inclusive of a psychology lab and an air-conditioned computer laboratory comprising of 51 systems attached to the client-server network. Sports enthusiasts in the college can avail the gym and other sports facilities. The college campus has separate hostel facilities for boys and girls, a canteen, and a general store that helps students with their day-to-day living. The college also maintains an auditorium for events and seminars. 

Smt. BCJ College of Education has three full-time courses related to education: B.Ed, M.Ed, and D.El.Ed. It is an institution solely dedicated to imparting quality education in the field of teacher training, with an emphasis on making students have a bright career in fields of education.

The admission is done at Smt. BCJ College of Education aims at transparency and fairness. The B.Ed. admissions are centralised through Sardar Patel University. For M.Ed. and D.El.Ed., the admission will be based on merit from marks secured in the qualifying examination, and/or entrance examination. The college will follow without bias any further additional process laid by the policies of the state government, union territory administration, and university.
