Smt. Kapila Khandvala College of Education is the educational college in Mumbai, established in 1962. It falls under the category of a co-educational institute that emphasises co-ed education. The institute holds accreditation from NAAC and approval from the NCTE. Being an affiliated college, it specialises in two programmes: a 2-year B.Ed. and a 6-year Ph.D. in Education. The college has an area of 3.099 acres under its small campus with a students' population of 111 in number and is led by 7 dedicated faculty members. These programmes are designed for those aspiring to become teachers. And that such an approach prepares students for teaching at the secondary and higher secondary levels. Simultaneously, the PhD programme for 24 students targets advanced research education. Both courses take an exhaustive full-time approach for intensive training. The total number of intakes from the college in all courses is 111, thereby showing an approach by the institution to ensure there's a healthy student-teacher ratio. The college offers quality education as it ensures one on one attention. 

The admissions to Smt. Kapila Khandvala College of Education are centralised. All B.Ed. admissions are made under an affirmative action plan. Because it is a linguistic minority institution, it has reserved 50% of its seats for Gujarati linguistic minority students. But all of them come into college through the process of centralised admission. The college is co-educational and diversity comes in the form of gender.
