Smt. Lakshmi Devi Mahila Educational Institute of Agra was founded in 2004, is affiliated college at Shamsabad, Agra U.P. This institution is recognized under the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and, offers education for women only. Spread across five floors which has 205 students and 7 teaching faculties giving proper attention and focus to each student. The college provides three distinct degree programs: B.ed D.el.ed and B.A to meet the educational needs and aspirations of diverse society. Hence although specific ranking data has not been obtained the commitment of the institute to the education of women makes it highly suitable for the region. 

The institute is equipped with all amenities as follows: aims at providing better educational facilities to the students of the institute. Scientists’ work is facilitated by a knowledge base, which in turn is supported by macrolibraries and appropriate departmental teaching laboratories. In the area of physical health the college provides for sporting amenities and a gym. A hall has Weekend activities and seminar series to create an active student life in the school. It also has an equally well equipped first-aid Health Center in line with the overall student health. For instance, the college offers a girls’ hostel to ensure out-station students are accommodated in safe hostels in case they prefer not to go home due to various reasons. Modern classrooms are the final touch to address the required learning atmosphere and environments for growth. 

In the present case of Smt Lakshmi Devi Mahila Educational Institute it provides a total of three full time courses for each disciplines. While D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education) has the approved intake of fifty Students, B.Ed(Bachelor of Education)and B.A(Bachelor of Arts)also open admissions for interested students but the intake capacity of which is not stated. These programmes are developed to address different employment goals within the discipline of education and arts. It abides to the principle of determining appropriate student-teacher ratio for all students enrolled at the institute is 205 in total.
