Smt. Lakshmi Devi Mahila Educational Institute, Agra, was founded in 2004 and is an affiliated college in Shamsabad, Agra U.P. This institution is recognised under the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and offers education for women only. Spread across five floors which has 205 students and 7 teaching faculties giving proper attention and focus to each student. The college provides three programmes to meet the educational needs and aspirations of diverse society. 

Smt. Lakshmi Devi Mahila Educational Institute is equipped with all amenities aims at providing better educational facilities to the students of the institute. Scientific work is facilitated by a knowledge base, which in turn is supported by macrolibraries and appropriate departmental teaching laboratories. In the area of physical health, the college provides for sporting amenities and a gym. A hall has weekend activities and seminar series to create an active student life in the school. It also has an equally well equipped first-aid Health Center in line with the overall student health.

In the present case of Smt Lakshmi Devi Mahila Educational Institute, it provides a total of three full time courses for each disciplines. While D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education) has the approved intake of fifty Students, B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) and B.A (Bachelor of Arts) also open admissions for interested students.

In the case of B.Ed admission process, it will be merit based depending on the marks scored in the qualifying examination and entrance examination for seats allocated to it as per the state government and university norms. The admission process for the D.El.Ed programme is also merit based dependent on the qualifying examination score, or entrance examination depending upon the state government/UT Administration policy.
