Smt. Manjira Devi Shikshan Avam Prakashan Institute was established in the year 2004 as an affiliated college at Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand. The present co-educational campus spreads over an area of 1.23 acres and delivers quality teacher-training education. It is duly approved by NCTE, New Delhi, and follows all national standards for teacher education. This institute has a total enrolment of 347 students with a faculty strength of 16, and the student-teacher ratio is very conducive to learning. Other facilities, like a well-maintained library with more than 3,200 books of all titles, journals, encyclopedias, and dictionaries, add to the educational experience of the students.

Smt. Manjira Devi Shikshan Avam Prakashan Institute also plans to implement an e-library to further enhance the availability of digital learning material. The Smt. Manjira Devi Shikshan Avam Prakashan Institute is currently running only one prime course: B. Ed. (Bachelor of Education). B.Ed. is two-years full-time course with the intake capacity of 100 students. The objective of the B.Ed. Course is to impart knowledge and train the teaching aspirants with the know-how in order to ensure them a successful career in the field of education. Although the teacher training institute is concerned with this specialised teacher training programme, it shows commitments to comprehensive education in the subject in question.
