Smt.M.B. Huilgol College of Education is a statutory teacher education college located at Gadag and it was started in the year 2004. It is a co-educational college at Gadag-Betageri, Karnataka, which is affiliated to the Karnataka State University and NCTE approved. Occupying only a 4.25 acre plot in downtown North Platte, the college provides a no-nonsense learning environment for prospective teachers. The college has 59 students with 16 faculties which cater a good student faculty ratio and provides quality education and individual attention for every student.

Smt.M.B. Huilgol College of Education  has a variety of facilities which aim at improving the learning of the facilitating students. It is an important referential institution which provides key materials necessary for acquiring and employing knowledge. For those students who wish to engage in physical activities, to keep fit and healthy, the school provided sports amenities for sporting activities to ensure that the students were not over worked with most of their time being taken up by books.  This modern college has every modern facility of learning complete with a good IT backup to ensure that the students are up to date with technologically developed methods of education. Departmental laboratories provide practical learning experiences necessary for practical teacher training. Also as a health centre with first aid facilities the welfare of the students that attend the campus is well cared for.

Smt. M.B. Huilgol College of Education is a Teacher Education Institution which aims at offering quality Teacher education through its programme: Bachelors in Education.  About the capacity to train future educators, the college has been approved to enrol 100 students for the B.Ed programme each year. Due to such a specialisation, the institution is able to gather and direct the necessary expertise and resources towards providing an all-encompassing and intensive teacher training process.

Smt.M.B. Huilgol College of Education follows merit system in compliance with the norms of the state government, U.T. Administration, and affiliated University. Students to be admitted are expected to take the qualifying examination, entrance tests or any other test as may be set.
