Smt. Ramkumari Teachers Training College, which was started in the year 2008, is a well – known teachers training college in Jhunjhunu of Rajasthan. This co-educational college located in area of 6.87 acres is committed to develop future educators. The college has three postgraduate programmes in education specialised area under the norm of National Council for Teacher Educations (NCTE). Currently the faculty consists of 16 members catering to the students’ community The institution has aimed at providing quality education and academic environment for learning. Teacher education is a strong priority at the college as demonstrated by the specialisation of its programmes and updates equipment.

Smt. Ramkumari Teachers Training College has got various facilities that are in a position to improve learning of the learners in college. A school library as a centre of information provides and should contain about 5000 books, magazines, and media. The institution embraces the use of technology and, as such, has a large computer laboratory where the students gain various computer skills. Smt. Ramkumari Teachers Training College provide three courses of teaching education in their college. These are Bachelor of Education , Master of Education (M.Ed) and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) for example. Annual intake of the college is of 300 students with 200 for B.Ed, M.Ed – 50, and D.El.Ed – 50. All of the programmes are two years, and offer preparation in many of the areas of education and instructional methods.

The option taken for admission into Smt. Ramkumari Teachers Training College differs with the various programmes. In a bid to control the entry of candidates in to the B.Ed programme, central counselling is undertaken to ensure that any candidate being oriented to join the teaching service meets the requirement. The M.Ed programme calls for the PMET (Pre-M.Ed Test) common entrance examination that tests the candidate’s ability of his /her aptitude for M.Ed studies. Admission to the D.El.Ed programme is merit based taking into account the percentage of marks in the qualifying examination. Sometimes some kind of entrance test, or any other common or special test as prescribed by the state government, UT administration, or the concerned affiliated University etc may be conducted.
