Smt. Veeramma Gangasiri College for women: Gulbarga was founded in the year 1965 is one of premier institutes situated in Kalaburagi, Karnataka. This college affiliated to this university is NAAC accredited and aims at delivering quality education to women only. Housed in a one acre of land, the college offers educational opportunity for 1373 students and 61 members on the faculty. Currently, the institution provides 6 different courses under 5 different degrees under arts, science, commerce, undergraduate, and postgraduate study. In as much as education empowers women the college has been more focused in offering education for women only at every level of education.

In order to enhance the customers’ learning experience, the college aims and ensures the availability of effective resources that foster the accomplishment of the student’s goals and needs. The library which is an essential source of academic information within schools is an automated one equipped with the up to date developed software with Internet via wireless facility for the students. 

For practical purposes, the college has well-organized laboratory facilities and an English and Career Lab that aim to support and develop the college members’ communication skills, skills in listening, in using the right vocabulary and pronunciation. This institution also places value in the health of its users since the compound has a gym, and other amenities built on a 5 acreage play ground. 

Opportunity for Sports and games The college acts as a sporting institution as well by providing opportunities for students to engage in different sporting activities, the college has produced many University blues and champions. For those that may need a place to stay, a girls’ hostel facility is provided on merit and first come first serviced basis with amenities including; spacious wardrobe sized rooms, dining hall and recreational facilities.

This institution, Smt. Veeramma Gangasiri College for Women provides vast courses so that students who have interest in different field can be accommodated. To this end, the institution offers six courses across the disciplines as follows: six full course undergraduate programs, and two postgraduate courses. The undergraduate programmes include; BA, B.Sc, BBA, B.Com, and BCA The postgraduate programmes are M.Sc in Physics and Chemistry. However, the college also provides a Ph.D. program in Physics for any students who are interested in research level. 

The college takes overall student intake of 1,373 students; the college makes sure that student-teacher ratio is kept optimum which is good for personalized learning. For the most recent academic year, the college has recorded high completion rates of the programs which has attributed to the colleges reputation for academic success.
