The Smt. Vijaya Luke College of Nursing was established in the year 2006, affiliated to the Andhra University, Andhra Pradesh. It was later approved by the Indian Nursing Council for the study of nursing. The college is established over a meager 1.5-acre campus with an enrolment capacity of 175 students and a faculty strength of 20. The institute offers a single degree program: B.Sc. Nursing consists of a diploma course with a sanctioned intake of 50 students. It is a full-time course that imparts practical knowledge about the medical nursing profession and equips the student with the capabilities to seek an immediate career in health services. The college is supported by infrastructure that helps students learn properly and stay healthy.

There is separate hostel facilities for the both genders, which could comfortably live from a varied distance away. The health center caters to all emergencies to ensure that no harm caused to students from medical standpoints. Online access enables nursing journals and other information supporting their academic work in colleges equipped with IT facilities. There are campus auditions and seminars too conducted in the auditorium with respect to other activities besides student lectures that help in enhancing overall understanding. 

Smt. Vijaya Luke College of Nursing offers only B.Sc. Nursing as a full-time course for an exclusive four years. This allows the institute to consolidate all its efforts and excellence in the quality of its nursing education delivery. It has already got approval for an intake of 50 seats.
