SNDP Yogam Training College, Adimali, formed in 1995, is one of the most reputed teacher training college situated at Idukki of Kerala. This affiliated college is recognised by National Council of Teacher Education NCTE and imparts special education courses in its measure 1.21 acre campus. This college has a total of 111 students and takes well-meaning 9 faculties of the college which means that most of the colleges offer specialised learning. SNDP Yogam Training College offers two full-time degree programmes: Till now, college offers B.El and M.El which is also meant for those who wants to be educators at bachelors as well as master level.
SNDP Yogam Training College has enhanced its infrastructure with infrastructure facilities aimed at improving the learning facility of its learners. These amenities include a thrilling library that boasts of book stock of 5,651 with 2550 Titles. It also has subscription to 12 journals, 7 magazines and 4 newspapers that make adequate information available for the students’ use. Internet connection in the library unleashes a wide range of learning possibilities based on the usage of the Web. Besides class room education, the college provides a playground, gym and an auditorium for games, sports and other extra curricula activities and functions. It also has modern IT facilities and appropriate departmental practical laboratories for practical purpose in the campus. To ensure students and visitors feel comfortable, the college offers a guest house, and a health facility including first aid section, and sufficient parking through the campus.
The SNDP Yogam Training College currently provides a total of two courses, out of which both are fully traditional, face to face and regular courses. The B.Ed programme has an approved intake capacity of fifty student while the M.Ed programme has a capacity of thirty five students. This has taken the total number of students to be admitted to 85 from the two courses that are offered. The college solely targets preparation of teachers in line with the nature of teachers training institutions and at various levels .
Admission forms at SNDP Yogam Training College are issued on merit basis following the policy obtaining in the State Government, UT Administration and the University to which the College is affiliated. In case of B.Ed programme, any candidate seeking admission is selected on the basis of marks secured in the qualifying examination and/or an entrance test conducted by the institute. The other criteria may also be considered during the selection depending on the existing policies. Likewise for the M. Ed programme the admissions are merit based depending on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination as well as the entrance test. That is why the college follows the general and the specific admission policies approved by the State Government, Central Government, University, or UT Administration.
