SNMV College of Arts and Science at Coimbatore was started in the year 1989, is one of the most popular educational institutions of Tamil Nadu, India. Established in collaboration with Bharathiar University, the college has been accredited by the National Assessment accreditations Council (NAAC). Located across a huge 50000 sq feet, SNMV provides 45 courses in 12 degree programmes. Currently, the college is hosting a total of 3,341students and has a faculty of 127 hence enhancing student teacher ratio. The institute has equal gender students ratio that makes it have 1907 female students and 1571 male students.

SNMV College of Arts and Science has equipped all the necessary equipment and facilities to improve the learning process of every respective college student. There are ample number of laboratories such as Physics lab, Chemistry lab, etc., computer labs for different faculties. An organisational library is a treasure hub which has the collection of books, journals, periodicals and other management related electronic resources etc. Extra-carriers for sports lovers SNMV has both indoor and outdoor games facility such as gymnasium, volley-ball, athletic track and field etc. The college also provides accommodation facilities for students through separate hostels for boys and girls and well furnished with modern facilities along with security services throughout the day.

List of Programmes SNMV College of Arts and Science – Undergraduates and Postgraduates. Undergraduate programmes include 31 courses, post graduate programmes include 8 courses and the research courses include 6 courses like M.Phil along with Ph.D. The college is equipped in various academic disciplines comprising of Computer Science, Commerce, Management, Life sciences, physical sciences and humanities. Some of the courses which are offered include B.Sc Computer Science, BCA, B.Com, MBA, M.Sc Biotechnology. The number of students that are admitted depends with the course, in the college over more than 3000 students are admitted in various courses offered.

The admission policy that has been adopted at SNMV College of Arts and Science for three and five years undergraduate degree programmes is merit based therefore candidates are selected in their programmes of choice on merit basis. For undergraduate courses, candidates must have 60% marks in their Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations. Masters’ seekers need to have obtained at least a 55% pass in the basic degree. MBA programme has further criteria, they should qualify in CET, CAT, MAT, TANCET and or CMAT as per the AICTE rules and regulations. All courses offered in the college are administered under the calendar year policy where the college accepts student applications for different courses at differentdates.

The management of SNMV College encourages students academically through scholarship schemes covering a large number of students. For the academic year 2021, the university offered 552 students fully sponsored while 1,537 only received partial sponsorship with 2, 089 out of 3, 106 undergraduate students and 325 out of 372 postgraduate students being sponsored. Besides, there is also effective industry relations to provide internships for students, as well as job vacancies to learners in the college. Lecturers voiced out that some of the students who passed thru the portals of SNMV have excelled in their respective fields and have also attributed to the college’s providing a conducive environment for talents and academic excellence.
