SNS College, Tekari, was established in 1966 at Salimpur, Tekari-Gaya, Bihar. It is one of the constituent co-educational colleges that have sprawling campus areas of 40 acres, thus creating an atmosphere which easily promotes easy learning and growth. Enrolled students are 3,399, whereas faculty strength is 15. The institution has imparted a wide variety of courses—22, to be exact—in eight degree programmes.

The infrastructure of SNS College is excellent and befits a conducive learning environment. The central library is a hub of knowledge with an outstanding collection of books of almost 30,000, journals, periodicals, and newspapers. It has a well-spaced reading room with a capacity to accommodate 100 students at a time. It has a well-equipped computer laboratory with 30 modern systems interlinked through a LAN for the tech-savvy learners. The college facilities all sports. Their laboratories are well developed, not only for the Science stream but also for the Arts stream, whereby students can experience practical moments.

SNS College, Tekari provides diversified curricula for catering to the interest of diverse students. The institute offers 22 full-time courses. Some of the popular UG courses provided include: BA with specialisations such as Geography, English, Economics, Philosophy, Politics, Psychology, and history etc; B.Sc- Biological sciences, Mathematical sciences, Chemical sciences and Physical sciences; B. Com;- Commerce course; BCA:- Computer applications; BBA- Business Administration. Desire for all round development finds its expression in the curriculum that the college provides, where it ranges from Humanities and sciences to professional studies.

The selection of candidates is done following an all-inclusive approach that is also merit-based at SNS College. It is based on the performance in qualifying examinations of the academic record. In some of the programmes, the college may conduct an entrance test also.
