Sonepur College,  which was established in 1964, is a premier educational institution in Subarnapur, Odisha. This is an affiliated college situated in a vast campus area of 10.477 acres and has been providing educational facility to this region for more than five and a half decades. Sonepur College is NAAC accredited and has a wide range of 24 courses in 7 degree programmes, covering a total student strength of 1202 students. It has 39 faculties and a satisfied teacher-to-student ratio, which is favourable for students of college. Due to its quality education policy, Sonepur College has emerged as a key provider of education in the region.

The college boasts of having provided a desirable lot of amenities towards bettering the learning ability of the students. The library complex is considered an important part of academic libraries and contains more than 17 000 books in the +3 building and over 5000 books in the +2 building, equipped with separate rooms for reading. There is also the alumni meet, where Sonepur College encourages the students to follow up on classes by holding alumni meet annually to connect them with their former institution.
