SP Jain's Bachelor of Economics (BEC) is a 3-year full-time undergraduate program that gives students an in-depth understanding of economics in a global context. The program is quantitative in nature and made up primarily of subjects that will help you study international business environments and critically analyse issues from an economist’s perspective. Students get the opportunity to study in two of the world’s leading cities – Mumbai (Year 1) and Sydney (Years 2 and 3) – and gain a global outlook.

On completion of the program, students will learn to appreciate various aspects of the theory and practice of economics, including development economics. The program’s strong real-world emphasis, combined with the theory and application of economics, makes it highly beneficial, whether you want to pursue a career as an economist, consider a general career in business or opt for graduate studies.

Note: The program is not accredited or approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) or any regulatory body in India. It is not offered in Singapore and is not approved or attested by CPE.

Eligibility Criteria

All applicants (domestic and international) are expected to have completed a minimum of 12 years of schooling demonstrated by one or more of the following:
Completion of an Australian Senior Secondary Certificate of Education authorized by a relevant state-based issuing agency with an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) or its interstate equivalent of 70; or
Completion of an accredited vocational education and training (VET) qualification at Diploma or Advanced Diploma level completed at an ASQA registered training organization (RTO); or
All India Senior School Certificate (issued by CBSE) or the India School Certificate (ISC) with a score of 60% or the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Year 12 exam from the Indian State Board with a score of 70% or more; or
International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) score of 24 or more; or
Completion of an international qualification where the content, level, and intended outcomes are deemed to be equivalent to any of the above through the official qualification recognition register or mapping of equivalence by the School.
In place of the above, completion of minimum years of 11 years of schooling for the nine Commonwealth of International States (CIS) countries is subject to a minimum CGPA score of 4.00 out of 5.00 issued by the National Board in these countries.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

All applicants must have completed their education as detailed above in English and must provide certified evidence to the School.
Applicants who have not completed their most recent education qualifications in English are required to take any of the following recognized formal English language tests and obtain currently valid minimum scores as below:
IELTS score of 6, with no band less than 5.5
TOEFL iBT score of 60 overall, with no band less than 20
PTE score of 50, with no band less than 45
International applicants (including those who have completed their most recent education qualifications in English) who are undertaking study at our Sydney campus may need to meet the English language test requirements detailed by the Australian Government to obtain their student visas.
