Spandan College of Education, Bankura was established in the session 2016 as a Co-Educational Institution to mould the future citizens of aspiring teachers. This affiliated college in the scenic village of Katul occupies within a very short period of its journey a niche in the field of teacher education. The institution is approved by the National Council of Teacher Education, New Delhi.
The facilities available in the college are limitless, all put in place to foster learning and general development of a student. At the center of academic facilities is a well-stocked library, availing students with abundant educational materials and a good studying and research environment. Spandan College of Education has two courses of teacher education programs. Both the B.Ed and D.El.Ed are full-time courses; each will run for a period of two years. The total student intake of the college is 400, out of which 100 seats are allocated for each course in one academic year. This balanced distribution definitely ensures due care and quality education among all enrolled students.

The admission process in Spandan College of Education is absolutely merit-based and transparent. In the case of a B.Ed. course, admission shall strictly be based on the merit of the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. The College may also consider any other selection process as per the policy of the State Government or UT administration and the affiliated University. Admission to the D.El.Ed course is also based on merit, counted in view of the marks at the qualifying examination and/or result of entrance test.
