Sree Kerala Varma College, Thrissur (SKVC) is an American accredited, self financing college in Kerala which started functioning in 1947. University: University of Calicut Location: Tenhipalam This is a co-educational institution and it aims to provide quality education along with personality development. Located on a lush 30 acre campus, SKVC provides a wide framework of courses in arts, science, commerce and computer applications at the graduation, post graduation and doctorate level. The college currently has 2,619 students and 61 faculty members which means that the college provides a good student to teacher ratio. SKVC has NAAC accreditation and reaches the rank of 151-200 under the NIRF 2024 rating of colleges.

There is a wide list of the college’s facilities which are intended to facilitate the college curriculum and co-curricular activities. The library with over 70000 books and INFLIBNET & NLIST resources for online use thus provides information to students and scholars. Modern educational equipped laboratories for science faculty and trained language laboratories for language faculties create the environment. The Prof. N D Subramaniam Stadium of the college provides comprehensive sports infrastructure for cricket, basketball and football where the college has always proclaimed its sporting culture.

Sanctioned under the Kerala University Act 2014, SKVC Thrissur provides several courses in many academic fields. Out of the 31 courses offered in the college nine are distinctive degrees. At the undergraduate level major programs offered include B.Com, BA in specified subjects like Economics, English Political Science and others, B.Sc in Maths, Physics and all the Science related fields. In postgraduate level the programs includes M.Com, MA, M.Sc etc. Further, the college provides doctoral degree programs in English, Malayalam, Political Science, and Physics in addition to MBA. The overall student head count is 2,619 and many students are taking their undergraduate courses with the institution.

Sree Kerala Varma College follows the norms of the University of Calicut to enroll its candidates for various programmes through merit. Based on the current policy of the university, all applicants have to apply through the central admission portal of the University. Several examinations are recognized by the college for various courses; however, the details of the examinations were not available in the data set.
