Sree Narayana College, Erattakulam (SN College) was established in 1970, is a self financing institution with a prime aim of providing education for the upliftment of socially backward persons and regions. Erattakulam based college is affiliated with the University of Calicut and holds ‘B’ grade accreditation from NAAC. With 13 courses, 6 degrees and 1,053 total students, spread over a 25-acre campus, SN College has a faculty strength of 29 teachers. The college boasts of a promising NIRF 2024 Ranking in the college category of 201-300 which show the determination of the college towards produce quality students.

Sree Narayana College has number of amenities that are provided to the students for their development in academic as well as other areas of life. The Students ‘Central Library referred to as the science library, opened from 9 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon and consists of Reference and General library sections offers a sufficiently rich stock of books for the formation of fundamental knowledge. The college has a technological facility comprising of computerized laboratory attached to the internet to aid the student when using online resources. For the female students from the far regions, the college also provides a health compromising hostel facility to make sure that they feel safe. Language Institute cafeteria offers vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian foods at moderate cost sufficiently and the quality is checked by the Canteen Committee on periodic basis.

At the college, students can apply for the B.Sc, B.Com, B.A, M.Sc, M.Com, and the MA programme. It should be noted that all the programmes are full time; the undergraduate courses take three years to complete, while the postgraduate courses take two years. The enrolment of the college is 1342: 81% of the students in Undergraduate, 19% in Postgraduate category. It is evident that a greater percentage of the college is also made up of female students taking 72 percent of the undergraduate students and 95 percent of the post graduate students.

The Undergraduate and postgraduate admissions to SN College are through Centralized Admission Process of the University of Calicut. There are different scholarships to sponsor students financially in the college, such as HECS, SMS, National Fellowship and Scholarship for Higher Education of ST students etc. These scholarships are about the motivation of deserving students so that they pursue higher education without many financial hitches.

SN College at Erattakulam also takes care on the all round development and therefore it consists of facilities for games, gymnasium, and an ac hall for cultural programmes. The college directly runs Career Guidance and Placement Cell which gives training and placement to the students for the next careers.
