The Sree Narayana Guru Institute of Management Studies (SNGIMS), Coimbatore, is one of the eminent institutes in the country providing quality education in management. The admission process is aptly devised to select the best among candidates for its MBA program. Admission into SNGIMS is based on performance in various national level entrance examinations, which include CAT, CMAT, MAT, along with the TANCET on the state level for government quota admissions.
Admission will be within a cycle beginning some time around August-September. To be eligible to apply, candidates should have a bachelor's degree recognized by the university. Degree wise Admission Process
MBA: SNGIMS provides a two-year full-time MBA course which remains the foremost program. The admission roadmap for MBA Programme goes by as follows:
Open/Management Quota:
1. The candidate should have secured 60% or above in MAT/CMAT/CAT.
2. The admission process will commence with a written Statement of Purpose (SOP).
3. In the next step, shortlisted candidates will take part in a Group Discussion (GD) involving an assessment of content, communication skills initiative, and group behavior.
4. The final stage would be a Personal Interview (PI) aiming to assess personal grooming, body language, awareness of general issues, confidence, and leadership abilities.
Government Quota:
1. Candidates need to appear for the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) conducted by Anna University, Chennai.
2. Admission activities are conducted by Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu.
For Government Quota:
1. Register for the TANCET exam conducted by Anna University.
2. Apply through the single-window counseling process of the Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu.
3. Follow the counseling schedule and procedures as announced by the Directorate.
Selection Process:
1. Statement of Purpose: Candidates are required to write an SOP demonstrating their motivation and suitability for the MBA program.
2. Group Discussion: Shortlisted candidates participate in a GD where they are evaluated on content, communication skills, initiative, and group behavior.
3. Personal Interview: It involves a PI, where candidates are assessed on personal grooming, body language, general awareness, confidence, and leadership skills.
