Sree Narayana Training College, Nedunganda, started as a teacher training college in the year 1958 and  is one of the most prominent and famous teacher training institutions situated in Varkala,Kerala. This affiliated college, approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and recognised by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The college is located in a fairly small plot having an area of 1.61 acres therefore, the college provides appropriate study ambiance for teacher education. The institute had a total enrolment of 193 students and a faculty of 14 teachers thus improving the institutional student-teacher ratio which increases student-teacher contact hence offering quality education.

Sree Narayana Training College has several opportunities for bright and modern facilities for its educational activities. These include one fully computerised library with more than 10,000 volumes of books, journals, periodicals, and online sources. It also avails research and learning resources via 25 computers connected to the internet. The college has a Natural Science laboratory wherein different practical experiments can be run to help students learn more efficiently, adequately equipped computer laboratories, a graphic art laboratory among others. The life of an IT infrastructure is also equally attractive with a well furnished IT lab having 25, new desktops as part of developing techn-pedagogy skills among students. Facilities for sports and games are available in the also include a separate building for a gymnasium along with a 200-seater modern auditorium. Sree Narayana Training College, Nedunganda, is exclusively a teacher education college, which offers only one course, that is, Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme. This follows a full-time course which has an approved capacity of one hundred students in order to support a large number of aspirant teachers without compromising on the quality of the course as per the college’s culture. The mentioned B.Ed programme aims to help students receive the right knowledge, necessary skills, and practice to begin a successful career in education. At the moment, the college only has one degree programme, but this programme is the specialisation in education that makes sure the college offers extensive training and mastery in the educational field.
