SREE SANKARACHARYA UNIVERSITY OF SANSKRIT, REGIONAL CAMPUS, ETTUMANOOR Kottayam –KERALA(ssus ettumanoor) is a remarkable university in Kerala. This mixed campus was started in 1994 with the aim to give shelter and promote Sanskrit and Indian culture. Education: The university teaches various languages and continuing conventional programs for both at undergraduate as well as postgraduate levels. Owned and run to support the Intellectualism and cultural values, SSUS Ettumanoor has emerged the large university in the area.

The campus also has the necessary teaching and non-teaching facilities which improve learning and development of the students. Among the facilities and amenities, there is a library that effectively stores a large number of books as well as academic journals and other materials. In this regard, Students can use Wi-Fi all over the students’ area and this will enhance more interconnection for academic activities. There are separate hostels for boys and girls outstation students to provide them cozy and comfortable stay. The campus also includes staff quarter, a guest house for faculty members and their families. As for physical fitness and recreation, there is a sports facility and a gym that can meet a client’s needs. The IT facilities and laboratories keyed to assist in the practical training and research work of the university. An auditorium is a place where events and seminars are held and a cafeteria where students and staff take their meals. In addition, since we are a learning institution, we also have a health center with a first aid section to attend to members of the university.

In total at SSUS Ettumanoor, the institution offers 6 courses in 4 degrees programs being full time, part time, and diploma degrees. The existing course structure comprises of the undergraduate, postgraduate, and the diploma courses in subjects of Sanskrit, Malayalam, and Hindi. Though, exact student intake and graduation rates are not mentioned the diverse course seeking students interested in language and Indian knowledge systems.

The admission requirements however differs or varies according to the programmes offered at the SSUS Ettumanoor. Undergraduate programs, as a rule, apply a credit-based system where the student’s result is the main criteria for his/her admission. The Postgraduate admissions include a Common Entrance Test and this is normally conducted in the month of May. The university also uses performance in interview for some of the course streams.
