Sree Sastha College of Education of Teacher Education is situated in Chembarambakkam near Chennai, an institution aiming to create future of Education. Started in 2008, this affiliated college has been preparing prospective teachers for more than a decade. Located at Chennai-Bangalore National Highway, the college features spacious 4-acre campus which is most favourable for learning and other developmental activities. Recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Sree Sastha College of Education provides male and female students excellent teaching programmes with co-education feature to meet the needs of today’s diverse society.

The rich library is filled with educational sources and helps the students to find necessary information. For practical activity, the college provides good labs for handling various department requirements. Sree Sastha College of Education has two courses for the benefit of students who want to pursue teacher education at a full-time level, at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level. Bachelor of Education programme offers 100 intake for the prospective teachers. For the students willing to go further in education, Master of Education (M.Ed) has 50 seats. This college has the benefit of specialising in two of these degrees, offering 150 seats in all. The college has good student licences ratio with 54 students, having 16 dedicated faculty members to teach and giving individual attention to every student and providing quality education.

The admission policy of Sree Sastha College of Education is put on merit strictly and is made clear to the public. For B.Ed course, the candidates are selected on the basis of marks of the qualifying examination or entrance test. The college also observes any other criteria for selection as may be recommended by the State Government, UT administration and the affiliated university. In the same way, the admission for the M Ed programme are made on merit which is to be calculated based on marks in the qualifying test, entrance test or any other method adopted by the state government, university or UT as the case may be. The above approach makes it more likely to identify and hire many deserving and passionate persons to take up their desire of becoming teachers.
