Sree Siddaganga College of Education is located at Tumakuru and was started in 1972, having a reputation in providing teacher education. Sited at Tumakuru, Karnataka – this is an affiliated college recognized by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and certified by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Located in a very small plot area of 1 acre the college has two programmes in education with a combined enrollment of 94 students. It has 7 members on the faculty which is reasonable a student-teacher ratio is advantageous for the institution. Having a goal to produce quality teachers for the future classrooms Sree Siddaganga College of Education has emerged as one of the leading colleges for the teacher education in the state.

Sree Siddaganga College of Education has a strong commitment to giving all its students a balanced and total educational experience. It provides a host of accommodation services for academic and personal development needs. Out of the mentioned components the library takes a prime place since the Library contains rather a vast collection of 17403 volumes including encyclopedia, dictionaries and yearbooks. It also supports 17 educational journals,12 magazines and 6 daily newspapers so that information centre goes on developing into a pool of rich knowledge for teachers. The college ha laboratory facilities to suit the different disciplines they offer, including the computer lab, a science lab, and a psychology lab. For extracurricular activities, the students of this campus can enjoy a big playground for volleyball, athletics and other extra activities. Some new sources of recreation include carrom and chess indoor games which are also provided in order to maintain proper balance of the students’ activities.

Sree Siddaganga College of Education offers two full-time courses: Bachelors in Education(Bachelor of Education – B.Ed) and Diploma course in Education (Diploma in Elementary Education–D.El.Ed). Currently the college offers B.Ed programme for 50 students and D.El.Ed programme for 60 students and thus the total intake is 110 students. These programmes are created to provide the learners with all the qualifications needed for a successful teacing profession. The fact that these two schemes are the primary focus of the college makes it possible to provide specific attention to trainer development to equip the graduates with the requisite needs in handling education challenges.

For issues concerning admissions, Sree Siddaganga College of Education also known to use the marks obtained in the qualifying examination along with the entrance examinations. University B.Ed programme admissions are carried according to the norms of the State Government, UT Administration and the concerned University affiliation.
