Sree Venkateshwara College of Education was established in the year 1987. It is a leading teacher training institution and a co-educational college, dedicated to grooming students to become future teachers, situated at Chitradurga, Karnataka. The institute is surrounded by NH 4 and Challakere Tollgate. It occupies an area of 5.2 acres and is affiliated with the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Sree Venkateshwara College of Education provides two main educational courses in teacher education. The B.Ed is a full-time, two-year programme and has an approved intake strength of 100 students. The D.Ed is the other two-year full-time parallel program on offer along with B.Ed. Both the courses have been devised to equip the students with all aspects of expertise and knowledge required to serve as a good teacher.

Admission Processes: The admission processes vary with different programs offered at Sree Venkateshwara College of Education. For B.Ed program, 75 seats are centrally filled through Centralised Admission Cell, Bengaluru, on the basis of merit. The rest, that is 25 seats, are management quota-based selections on merit and according to the state government's rules and regulations. Admission process to D.Ed program: The application forms to join D.Ed program are available in the office of Sree Venkateshwara College of Education. The selected ones are contacted for interviews; they have to come with their parents and all original documents with them.
