Sree Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology and Science, Mahabubnagar, Telangana was established in the year 1998. It is an affiliated college spread over an area of 32 acres. The engineering and management programs offered here are truly diverse. The institute has a total enrollment of 650 students. All India Council for Technical Education has approved the same. With a faculty strength of 78, SVITS ensures a student-faculty ratio that is merely favorable. The institute offers 9 courses spread over 3 degrees in specializations of engineering and management studies.

The Sree Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology and Science has provisions both for physical and intellectual needs of the students. The Institute has laboratories and workshops fully equipped according to the prescribed syllabus. The Library collection comprises more than 34,000 volumes and subscribes to 109 national and international journals. It also features an E-Library, providing access to digital resources and international journals. For student accommodation, SVITS offers separate hostels for boys and girls, each equipped with essential amenities and round-the-clock security. The institute admits 11 courses, in which B.Tech courses include Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Computer Science and Engineering. SVITS also offers an MBA programme and diploma courses in Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering. All the courses are full-time; the B.Tech course lasts for 4 years, MBA for 2 years, and diploma courses for 3 years. The total intake approved for these courses is 420 students every year.

Admission procedure at SVITS varies from program to program. For B.Tech programs, the admission is mainly done through ranks in TS EAMCET examination. With that to and fro of participation in JEE Main candidates from other states are allowed. The institute allows NRI candidates also. The percentage they have scored in their qualifying examination should be a minimum of 50%. MBA admissions are done through TSICET. The institute conducts counseling, where it selects a student according to their merit through the state convenor. All entrance exams - JEE Main, TS EAMCET, TSICET of other states are accepted by the institute. This creates more opportunities for potential students.
