It was established in the year 2005. Kerala University, India, recognized this institution. Merit is the basis of the admission process to Sree Vivekananda College of Teacher Education. It takes into account the marks gained in qualifying examinations and/or entrance tests. For B.Ed, admissions are made strictly on the basis of the candidate's performance in the qualifying examination or entrance examination or even other selection process in case it has been mentioned by the state government or university. Similarly, the same pattern is followed for the M.Ed programme. It has a performance-based admission policy for the candidates in terms of a qualifying examination and entrance test. Eligibility for D.El.Ed admission is also based on merit, where marks from qualifying exams or entrance tests are considered as per the policies of the state government or UT administrations.
