Sri Gandhi Mahavidyalaya, Sitapur, was established in 1981 and is an affiliated college at Shidhauli, Sitapur, of Uttar Pradesh. It has been more than forty years since this institution has been providing educational services to this region. The college is recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) to cater for the need for standard Teacher Education. Spread over a large area of 16 acres, Sri Gandhi Mahavidyalaya is offering different courses in various disciplines It has 2799 students and 21 faculty members. The college offers 8 courses under four degree programmes to address the concerns of diversified education and employment opportunities. 

Sri Gandhi Mahavidyalaya has made available the following facilities to enable students to get a ’ feel’ of what they are taught. The college has well-contained laboratories arranged for carrying out practical sessions, which include various subjects. Internet connectivity in a modern computer centre with the facility of round-the-clock connectivity helps students remain connected to use the resources as per their needs. The library currently boasts books in excess of 10432, 60 research journals, and 10 research encyclopaedias. For sports and games lovers, the college has facilities for outdoor games like cricket, volleyball, football, badminton, kabaddi and kho-kho to keep the students fit and team-spirited. The college also boasts of a seminar hall outfitted with audio-visual apparatus used for guest lecture deliveries, project disputation, as well as workshops. Besides, there is a counselling and guidance centre for students, a hygienic canteen, a store selling daily requisites, and a portable health centre with first aid.

The courses being taught in Sri Gandhi Mahavidyalaya are numerous and wide-scoped. The college offers both full-time undergraduate and postgraduate education, with a combination of the two. Undergraduate programmes offered comprise of BA, BA Self Finance, and B.Com. Self Finance, and B.Ed., and postgraduate programmes offered are MA (Hindi, Political Science, Sociology and Economics).
