Sri Lalithambigai Medical College and Hospital (SLMCH) is one of the new generation and prime institution of medical education in Chennai Tamil Nadu, was established in the year 2021. This co-educational institution is linked with the Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University and its main focus to deliver the best of the education in the Medical and Allied Sciences. SLMCH has received accreditation from the NMC as a testimony of conformity to higher standards in learning.
The college has only one undergraduate programme – Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) with an approved annual student uptake of one hundred and fifty (150) students. It highlights the teams’ expertise and focus to detail in its excellent infrastructures and in the extensive medical education they offer through SLMCH.
This college has numerous accommodation facilities that are worthy of producing today’s quality education. The facilities which are available on the campus include; these lecture halls, which are well equipped, smart classrooms inclusive. A library is at the heart of the MCI providing the medical intern with an opportunity to read 3,063 books, 6 foreign magazine/journals, and 14 regional/Indian magazines/journals.
The library also provides students with an air conditioned computer room with Medlar and Internet facilities to prepare students for computer literacy. In the practical elution, SLMCH has put up a clinical skill lab and an intensive care unit which enables the students to experience clinical practical aspects closely monitored. The college also possess a museum in order to illustrate or support theory learnt in class.
