Sri Mettu Seshamma Sri Mettu Chinna Malla Reddy College of Education, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, is exclusively a dedicated college for imparting teachers’ education. This college was founded in 2007 and is a co-educational institution striving to create future educators for more than ten years. The college is an affiliated institution and is fully accredited by the NCTE which guarantee quality teacher education. It is a compact college located on a total land area of 0.6298 acres providing the learner with a focused environment to learn. The student strength is 100 and the faculty strength is 13, hence, the institute has good student and teacher interaction.

The library is an essential that is most important to the learners, especially those who wish to become teachers. The laboratories of each department allow the application of theory learnt in class as students get accustomed to practical lessons. Sri Mettu Seshamma Sri Mettu Chinna Malla Reddy College of Education, at present has only one major course, the Bachelors of Education (B.Ed). This is a two years’ full time course meant to help prepare the students with all the requisite knowledge and skills to enable them be effective teacher. The college has been given an intake capacity of 50 students for this programme to provide quality education to the students. This specialisation allows the institution set focus and mobilise its resources towards nurturing competent teaching fraternity.

The admission process in Sri Mettu Seshamma Sri Mettu Chinna Malla Reddy College of Education so as to cherish fairness as well as quality. Of the B.Ed programme, 75 percent seats are filled through EDCET Convenor which follows the state level entrance test norms. 25 percent of the seats are directly controlled by the management and are admitted according to the rules framed by the Andhra Pradesh state council of higher education, Hyderabad. This way there is a mix of ability levels while at the same time there is still quality in the students that come to the school.
