Sri Muthukumaran Medical College Hospital and Research Institute (SMMCHRI) is one of the fast growing medical colleges in Chennai, India established in the year 2009. This affiliated college is approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC), the university spans over 27.11 acres, here the student can fathom Medical programmes can be availed. SMMCHRI is recognised as a co-educational institute and dedicated to medical education. The institute has a student strength of 300 and has a well-equipped faculty of 251 members to help the budding medical professionals in the institute. The college provides 8 courses in 3 different degree programmes aimed at various medical specialties.

Sri Muthukumaran Medical College Hospital and Research Institute is equipped with highly equipped departmental laboratories for practice to enable learners gain practical knowledge in their areas of specialisation. In physical fitness and recreation SMMCHRI has put in place a gym facility for use by the members of the organisation. SMMCHRI has a total of 9 programmes all of which are on full time basis. The MBBS taken under the flag ship has taken 150 seats and the remaining seats are divided in different postgraduate programmes and MD and MS courses -MD General Medicine etc.

The MBBS programme and admission process is through National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for the students of this country at under graduate level. NEET-PG is used to manage the admission for the MD and MS courses for postgraduate students. Admission to classes is carried out in accordance with the timetables set by the respective examination bodies of the institute.
