Sri R Ponnusamy Naidu College of Education; established in the year 1996, located at Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu is one of the renowned college to imparting teacher education. Founded in 2007 this affiliated college has been produced future educators for over a decade now. It is nestled across five point three acres and avails an ambience that fosters learning and development. After approval from the National Council for Teacher Education the institution offers quality education as per national quality standards. Currently it has 140 students in total and with an able team of 11 teachers and mentors, thereby, the college provides personal approach in the learning process.

The college has resources of numerous contemporary structures that support learning activities. Both core and peripherally located academic resources is a state-of-the art library that is a computerized, full-service library stocked with books, reference and encyclopedias, magazines, and journals. To enhance practical knowledge, the institution has operational laboratories which include; Psychology Lab, Educational Tech. Lab, Computer Lab, Physical Science Lab and Biological Science Lab. These sophisticated structures guarantee students receive the practical aspect in addition to their knowledge of theory. It also has an impressive auditorium for events, seminars etc., good IT facilities, and sports facilities to accommodate the holistic development strategy of the college. Hence there is availability of transport for Students and staff in relation to access the transport facility in the campus.

At present this college offers only one full time course of study, namely the Bachelor of Education (B Ed) programme. This level has been approved for enrollment intake of one hundred students and aims at producing qualified teachers who will transform education sector in the country. B.Ed course outlines the proscribed professional competencies, knowledge, skill, and practice expected of a candidate to teach effectively. This college only accepts female students, which is formative to the education sector by empowering women.

Sri R Ponnusamy Naidu College of Education acts as an open institution, and entry to the institution is open and based on marks procured in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination.
