About Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore

Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science was inaugurated in 1964 in Coimbatore; it is adhered to the Bharathiar University. It is set in Periyanaickenpalayam. The college occupies a total area of 13 acres and holds 57 courses over 11 degree courses. Having NAAC accreditation and AICTE permission, it ranked 82nd in the NIRF 2024 college list. At present, the institute has 126 faculty members and 2321 students comprising of 88% under graduate students and 12% post graduate students. Most importantly, all the levels of college have male students enrolled only that is a 100% male dominated institution.

The different facilities offered by the college include social amenities to improve on the students’ lives. Its library is one among the largest and oldest libraries in Coimbatore, which has been developed under the consultation of the father of Indian Library Science, Dr. S.R. Ranganathan. The main library occupies the area of 6,365 sq ft + 750 sq ft is to self-financing students. Other facilities exist in the form of a health centre with a first aid division, a gym, sports facilities, computer archives, a cafeteria, a hall and access to internet around the compound. Add these facility to facilitate the encoder and feelings of academic and personal development.

Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science has a large number of full-time courses offered for students. It offers 57 programs belonging to the categories of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in arts, science, Commerce and Computer Applications. Some of the prominent courses offered include Commerce, Science, Computer Applications, Commerce, Science, Computer Applications and many research courses. The college offers it’s top course to a total of 975 students with B.Com Self Finance taking the largest number, 120.

Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science follows a merit-based admission system accompanied by university and government reservation policy. For the undergraduate programs as well, it is clear throughout the process since admissions are on merit only. The same merit-based admission system applies after the student has completed their first degree and proceeding to postgraduate study. For gaining admission to this MCA course the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) is taken into consideration by the college. 

Scholars pursuing M.Phil and Ph.D. courses are selected on academic merit accompanied by interviews and performance in the Common Entrance Test conducted by the affiliating university. There is scholarship provision and 959 undergraduate and 240 postgraduate students got reimburses in the academic year 2022. Although specific names of Alumni are not mentioned the institution boasts of having a good record of producing successful graduates in different areas.

College Infrastructure

Classroom and computer laboratories are ok libraries and sports are good. NCC, NSS, and YRC are making good at their work. Need a lot of improvement in management facilities. a lot of improvement needed for Carteen.

Surrounding Natural Environmental is make a good. The College building and Classroom are better. Then, need a better college canteen, Because, not have a lot of variety. The environment surrounding it needs a better infrastructure.
