Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Education, Inc., Coimbatore was set up in the year 1950 and is an autonomous institution offering teacher education. This college for both boys and girls is situated in Tamil Nadu which is certified from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The college is located in a 5-acre campus and it offers 10 programs out of five degrees with concentration in the facet of education. It has 53 students in total intake and a faculty number of 15, which promises better attention for its students and better quality education. This college offers many courses such as B.Ed, M.Ed, M.Phil, Ph.D and different diploma courses related to education.

It seems that the college possesses a great number of resources for providing support to academics in the college. The library which is an integral part of the college is the first college library in India to install RFID technicality with a wide range of resources for teacher education. It serves the purpose of, but is not limited to, the faculty, researchers, and students among them persons with a disability. 

The campus has well equipped computer lab, commerce lab, audio-visual lab, biology and physics lab, mathematics lab, English language lab, psychology lab and social science lab. An EDUSAT lab adds to the learning process further more. For co-curricular activities the college offers sporting amenities and a gymnasium. The campus also has hostels for boys and girls so as to provide off-campus students comfortable accommodation if need be.

Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Education provides educational courses that cater to its students needs. They offer 10 courses, this entails full time, part time and even diploma courses. The o ered B.Ed programme has an approved student intake capacity of 50 students. Other programs of study offered by the School include; M.ED, M.Phil in Education (full time, part-time), Ph.D in Education (full time, part time), and the following diplomas: Educational psychology and child education, Educational Applications of Television, Library and Information System, Computer Programming and Educational Applications. These varied programs cover different fields of specialization within the teaching industry and give students different approaches to achieve their academic dreams.

Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Education have policy of admission based on merit, both the students’ marks in the qualifying examinations and entrance test would be taken into consideration. In case of B.Ed program, admissions are done according to the government policy of state, UT administration and University. 

The procedure of applying to the M.Ed program is also the same, but the specified entrance tests or other selection criteria may be applied depending on the government and university norms.
