Sri Sarada College for Women, Salem, was started in the year 1961 which is an autonomous college for women’s and is affiliated to the Periyar University. It was established in Fairlands, Salem, Tamil Nadu and accredited with NAAC; this college situated in 15 acres land offering number of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The college has 2,568 students and 98 teaching faculties where it offers 32 courses for 9 degree programmes. Sri Sarada College is famous for its specialisation and providing Arts, Science and Commerce education with traditional as well as new courses as per the requirement of the world.

Sri Sarada College for Women has adopted modern facilities to support its academic activities within the college. The library includes precious documents of total 78,839 books, 30 Journals, and 49 periodicals for students and faculties. The computer science laboratory is fitted with 137 systems, 31 printers and 2 scanners to make syre that the learners are exposed to relevant Information Technology infrastructure. Other creating include efficient science laboratory, a health facility, a hall of gym or games, playground and chapel where daily prayer sessions are held.

Sri Sarada College for Women has a broad subject coverage and it provides education up to the various standard levels. Undergraduate the institution has 14 programmes, postgraduate programmes are 9 and research programmes which includes M.Phil and Ph.D courses are 9. The college admits 2,568 students in total with 2,042 students in undergraduate courses and 443 in post graduate programmes. All courses are fulltime and regular, it is the college’s policy to offer only quality education to it’s students. The courses are B.Com, BA (Hons) in English Literature, Economics, History, BA, MA English, and so on.

Appointments for undergraduate programmes happen strictly in line with the requirements set by the government on the basis of students’ performance on the qualifying exam. Following the same process of admissions for postgraduate programmes, the candidates are assessed according to their performance in their undergraduate programmes.
