Sri Sarvajna College of Education, a premier teacher training institution was started in the year 1980, is located in Vijayanagar, Bangalore, Karnataka. This is a co-educational institute which those aspiring to land teaching jobs find befitting due to the institutions’ strongly focused pedagogy. The college has earned the NAAC accreditation and NCTE approval in the field of teacher education and empowers its standard. Located in a 1-acre excised site of land, it provides an exclusive learning environment for prospective teachers.
There are several installations in the college that are incorporated with a view to improving the learning process of the students. A rich resource centre boasts of over 10000 books, National journals, Periodicals and Magazines along with e- Library facilities and Photocopying facilities for students and faculty. The computer laboratory is equipped with modern multimedia equipments that helps the students to develop essential technological competence. It includes a psychology lab, and additional science lab facilities; physics, chemistry, and biology labs are also available to students. Sri Sarvajna College of Education also has different hostels for boys and girls, and out station students to give them safety. An auditorium is used for instance in conducting programmes and seminars to help in the dissemination of information while sports facilities help in the physical well being and management of students’ team spirit.
Sri Sarvajna College of Education offers one full-time course, the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). This programme can take two years and it the aim of producing students who will teach at secondary school. This has been made possible through the approval of 50 students per year making it an educating institution of focused and personalised learning. The enrolment of students is 100 and this is good in providing a quality education to the students while adhering to the college policy of employing a large number of competent teachers that today our college has 7 teachers.
