Sri Shiva Degree College, Azamgarh, was set up in 1965 and is situated in Terahi, Kaptanganj, Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh. This affiliated, co-educational college was established more than five decades ago to provide education in a number of undergraduate and post graduate courses. With student enrolment of 1,540 and faculty strength of ten, the college offers opportunity to students and other interested persons to advance in their education. It has a total of five programmes being offered in two degree types, Arts and Humanities. 

Sri Shiva Degree College also has numerous amenities aimed at improving efficiency of learning among the college learners. The library is a distinctive storage place of books important for students nad it unites different types of books, including new and old editions. It also has a reference section for readers’ hall containing Hindi/English newspapers and magazines and journals of different dailies. The college boasts of well equipped laboratories which include the Language Laboratory and this is helpful in the improvement of the students’ pronunciation, accent and intonation. 

At present, Sri Shiva Degree College conducts 5 courses, among them all the courses offered are full time only. The programmes taught include one undergraduate programme, the Bachelor of Arts (BA) and four postgraduate programmes such as Master of Arts in Ancient History, Master of Arts in Hindi, Master of Arts in Sociology and the Master of Arts in Economics.
