Sri Sri Nrusinghnath Ayurved College and Research Institute, situated in Bargarh Odisha, is one of the pioneering colleges of Ayurveda Education. This affiliated college was started in the year 1981 and has been preparing would-be Ayurvedic professionals for more than forty years. This CCIM approved college lays down high standard for the education in Ayurvedic system of medicine. Taking an aggregate student enrolment of 210 and faculty strength of 30, the institute is able to provide individual care to its students besides providing quality educations to them.

Sri Sri Nrusinghnath Ayurved College and Research Institute has in place various amenities that can improve learning and also the development of students. The central library occupying 2950 sq/ft has more than 10000 classical ayurvedic books along with modern systems and medical books for academic study. Newspapers, magazines and periodicals in print and electronic form are available for students and they are: Medical newspapers and journals. Some of the facilities available in the library are photocopying machines, scanners and internet at most points.

In regards to practical assignment, the college provides organised departmental laboratories necessary for lab exercises in Ayurvedic courses. It also has students’ welfare assistant facilities such as two hostels- one for boys and the other for girls, a health centre with first aid services, sports facilities and a gym. For its effective functioning as within learning community, the college boast of a well equipped seminars hall for classes and seminars with quality sound/ video systems, computerised information technology system, and a cafeteria for students and members of staff.

Sri Sri Nrusinghnath Ayurved College and Research Institute primarily provide the following course that is, the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS). This programme is a five-year full-time course that gives students a broad and extensive coverage of Ayurveda and the real world application of the science. The total admission capacity for the BAMS programme is 60 students owing to the fact that the intake capacity has been approved by maintaining an optimal students faculty ratio. Although this is the primary programme offered by the college, students are given a broad perspectives of the ayurveda philosophy with the supplement of the modern medical principles.
