Sri Sukhmani Polytechnic, situated in Dera Bassi, and was started in 2011 situated in Chd-Ambala Highway Punjab, India . This college is recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) which gives this college the authority to offer the following diploma programmes in engineering disciplines. Located on a 7-acre campus, the institute offers total enrolment capacity of 295 students and has faculty of 32 members. Sri Sukhmani Polytechnic aims to produce quality technical education as the Institute assures its wards of meaningful engineering profession.

Sri Sukhmani Polytechnic has a number of highly developed resources to contribute to students’ academic and personal development. The library uses open-access system and it has 1977 titles with 8625 volumes; this makes it a place of learning and research. Single gender accommodations range from boys’ hostels where facilities include cable TVs, indoor games, medical assistance, and internet access as do the girls’ hostels. The physical facilities available include modern laboratories for practical work backed by a sound IT platform. In order to suit the students’ needs the institute offers on campus banking, medical dispensary and transport facilities with own buses for students living in neighbouring cities. The college also consists of modern gym, big mess facilities, and indoor as well as outdoor games and sports facilities that have been helpful for the all round development of the students.

Training and Placement cell at the institute is an active participant in the student’s life, dedicated to conduct campus placement and job fair events. The Cell is privileged with an adept team of professionals, the cell has delivered a superior placement ratio of around 70-80% against the qualifying candidates of the cell has got placed in the reputed companies in the past three years. The college also promotes student involvement in some co-curricular and extra curricular activities, therefore improving students personality development.

Sri Sukhmani Polytechnic has five diploma programmes in engineering duration of 3 years each. These are diploma courses in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Civil Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering. All academic programmes are available in full-time, after completion of which the student will have extensive theoretical knowledge and practical experience in a selected subject area.

The procedure of admission in Sri Sukhmani Polytechnic also depends on the merit standard that students get in the following; the Joint Entrance Test (JET) or the Matriculation examination.
