Sri Uma Maheshwara Government Degree College, Kondanagula was started in 1984 affiliated under the Osmania University, Mahabubnagar Dist,telangana. This centrally funded college is located in a sprawling ten acre plot and holds NAAC accreditation. Having a total of 7 courses, 4 of which are degrees, the college provides the student with a wide choice of bachelor and master programmes. Currently it boasts of 237 students with 13 faculty members demonstrating a student-instructor ratio of 18:1 thus facilitating adequate attention to each of the learners.

The undergraduate programmes are BA, B.Sc Life Sciences, B.Sc Physical Sciences and B.Com Computer Applications for 60 students in each programme. Further, the college provides the undergraduate course of BA in Telugu medium having a strength of 120 students. At the post graduate level, the institution offer MA in History and Political Science both self financing having the strength of 40 students each. The total quota enrolments mean score for all the courses is 440 this puts inline with the colleges mission of offering quality education to as many students as possible in the region.
