This college with good fame for some of the undergraduate programs offered in other fields. The admission process of the college is purely by merit to ensure equal opportunities for all capable candidates. The admissions to the Sri Vagdevi Degree College will begin after the 10+2 results for six undergraduate courses straddling the fields of Commerce, Science, and Computer Science. Usually, the entire admission process starts from May-June for the academic session commencing in the months of August-September.  For most of the programs, having been qualified by 10+2 or its equivalent examination from any recognized board counts as a qualification. A minimum aggregate of 40 % marks in the qualifying examination shall be required for general category students, whereas there is relaxation for SC/ST candidates.

B.Com: This is a program offered at SVD for which specific admission criteria are not mentioned. However, the qualification necessary for applying should be the completion of 10+2 with Commerce or related subjects.

B.Com Computers: A commerce program with a specialized component of computer studies. Preference will be given to students who completed 10+2 with Commerce and have a knowledge of basic computer operations.

B.Sc. in Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science: This program caters to students who possess a strong background in Mathematics and Physics. Candidates must have completed 10+2 with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry subjects.
