Sri Venkateshwara First Grade College was founded in the year of 1999 and is one of the first-grade colleges in Bangalore, Karnataka. Located in Madiwala, this is an affiliated college that has been in existence for over two decades training the young generation. The college is recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education following which the college has developed under graduate and post graduate programmes in various streams. The total number of students enrolment of Sri Venkateshwara First Grade College is 386 and the faculty with 23 members also create a healthy atmosphere for student’s education and character building.

Sri Venkateshwara First Grade College has been equipped with state of the art facilities that would improve the teaching and learning process of students. Sting on the middle of these comfortable are provided by comparatively liberal library containing large stock of books, encyclopedias and journals for the students and teachers. It also offers previous years question papers besides comfortable reading areas where the student can take time to study his or her area of interest in detail. 

For the technology minded students, the college has a computer laboratory that can comfortably host up to one hundred students at a time. This lab gives an uninterrupted supply of the internet facility through which the students can increase their knowledge above and beyond the classroom content. The college also has subject based laboratory that allow the learners to practically experience what is taught in classroom across different fields of human pursuit.

The college supports the involvement in different co-curricular activities because the college feels that these activities are of paramount importance and should help in the overall development of the student. Games and sports facilities include both Indoor and outdoor games to help supplement the students’ body fitness and spirit of team work. The college also has an efficiently designed auditorium and seminar hall where students can perform and also use academics facilities for doing seminars. As part of its facilities, the college has hostels for boys and girls to make out station students feel at home

It has a total of nine courses offered and of them as many as 4 courses are provided by the Sri Venkateshwara First Grade College. These courses are offered in fields like Commerce, Arts, Science, Computer Applications, Education such as BBA, BCA, B.Ed etc.  All programmes are full-time, they carry intensive academic timetables to assure that the student gets an all-round and intensive learning. The B.Ed programme is the most popular programme that has an approved intake of one hundred and fifty students and the college is highly regarded in teacher education. 

Thus, the admission policy of Sri Venkateshwara First Grade College has been made unique and merit oriented. In most cases, entry requirements for most undergraduate courses refer to the marks which the candidate got in the qualifying exam. But for the B.Ed programme, the college admits Students and follow semester system strictly. Admission to the course shall be based on the merit on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or in the entrance examination or any other selection process as per the policy of the state government/U.T. Administration and the university. This guarantees that qualified persons are given chance to follow their desired area of specialisation.
