Sri Venkateswara Engineering College, Suryapet: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Sri Venkateswara Engineering College (SVES) was founded in 1998 as an affiliated college situated in Suryapet, Telangana. Located in a vast area of 25 acres of land, SVES is recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Engineering is one of the many disciplines covered by the institute, which offers a wide list of programmes; to be precise, there are 12 programmes offered at 3 degree levels. SVES has a students’ strength of about 274 and a faculty of 64 that proves the college is excellent for technical education. It deals with subjects including Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Technology.

SVES has numerous amenities that sponsor student’s academic and co-curricular activities. The college has a central library, which is a two-story constructions separate and rather spacious, equipped with DELNET facility and having rich stock of books, periodicals, dissertations, etc. When it comes to healthcare and health-related issues, there is a medical centre with a visiting doctor on the school compound. The college aims at the well-being of the learner through provision of campus features such as sports grounds, volleyball, badminton courts and a gym. SVES stands updated with technology where laboratories are equipped with computers and computer centres have 185 networked systems and 10 MBPS Fibre optic internet connections. Others being the cafeteria, the open-air central hall, which has a seating capacity of over 1100; boys and girls hostels, and transportation service for student and staff.

Engineering forms the core degree offer of the institute, having six B.Tech courses, three M.Tech specialisations, and three Diploma courses. All courses are full-time and mainly address different concerns in engineering education. The B.Tech programmes have the highest intake and the data shows that, out of the total of 300 seats, CSE bagged the maximum of 180 seats, whereas ECE and AI&ML have 60 seats each. The M.Tech programmes provide a departmental (SA) education in Computer Science and Engineering, Power Electronics, and VLSI, with an intake of 9–12 seats. Intake capacity of 60 seats each is offered in Diploma courses in Civil Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering offering practical and industry-orientated curriculum.

The admission procedure of Sri Venkateswara Engineering College and its fee structure depend heavily on the Telangana State Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET) for admission to B.Tech programmes. This examination is a gateway for graduating engineering students in Telangana and is conducted at the state level. In regard to admission to M.Tech courses, the websites do not release specific information but it is known that some institutes may use GATE scores while others administer their tests. Since the diploma programmes are quite different from the university Programmes, they are probably admitted on different terms, perhaps on the basis of the intermediate / equivalent examination.
