Sri Venkateswara Polytechnic College was started in 1985, which is a well-known technical college in Vellore, Tamil Nadu. Set under a vast plot of 9.61 acres, the college was founded to mould the future engineers for the nation and has been catering to this cause for almost four decades. As an affiliated college admitted by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), it presents a number of diploma courses in engineering trade. It was founded in 1975, enrolling a total of 1,047 students and having a staff strength of 59, thus having a good student-teacher ratio that guarantees quality learning.

Sri Venkateswara Polytechnic College has the following five courses of full-time duration of three years each. These are Diplomas in Mechanical Engineering (ME), Electronics & Communication Engineering (EC), Computer Engineering (CE), and Civil Engineering. The college was approved an aggregate capacity of 390 students for all the courses offered and within the college, mechanical engineering has the highest capacity of 180 students. This diverse range of programmes gives students the opportunity to select a programme from a field of their interest or career path.

The admission procedure of Sri Venkateswara Polytechnic College is very much fair and smooth so it looks forward to selecting the right kind of students for its different diploma courses. It is, however, not clear on the requirements for admitting students, but generally, polytechnic colleges in Tamil Nadu admit students based on their performance in their 10th standard or any other equivalent qualification they have. The Training and Placement Cell of the college helps the final-year students to search for placements by inviting the different companies in the colleges for a recruitment programme.
