Sri Vidya College of Engineering and Technology, Virudhunagar: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Sri Vidya College of Engineering and Technology, at Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu, was existent from the year of 2008. This affiliated college, recognised by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), provides the students with a wide range of specialisations in the disciplines of engineering and management. Currently seated on a 45-acre campus, SVCET has a total student head count of 741 and a faculty strength of 98. The college offers 11 courses affiliated to three degree programmes that cut across engineering disciplines and management. The following paper seeks to outline on the general perception of the public on SVCET in regards to providing quality education of engineers and managers in the region.

To this end, the college boasts of a complete range of learning amenities to complement the learning process for the students. SVCET has separate hostels for boys and girls outstation students to give them a comfortable stay. This campus provides a well-stocked library as the information centre of the institution for students and instructors. For any individual who has interest in the area of sports as well as exercise regimes, then the college provides good sporting amenities. There are a lot of computing facilities available at SVCET that are up-to-date with IT facilities and software. The campus restaurants provide culinary services and a cafeteria is available The campus restaurant also has an auditorium for special events and workshops. The college also have well-equipped laboratory for practical knowledge, guest house for teaching and non-teaching staffs and their family members, and transport facility of the college for students and staff.

SVCET has a rich curriculum to meet the needs of students with regard to their field of specialisation. The institute offers eleven full-time programmes both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. At the undergraduate level, ASMEA offers the following programs: B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The college also offers new generation B.Tech programmes in artificial intelligence and data science and computer science and business systems. In the postgraduate level, the courses are Master of Engineering Programmes in Computer Science and Engineering, VLSI Design and Structural Engineering, and Master of Business Administration. The total approved intake summed up over all courses is 741 students, which means, as one might notice, college has great potential to help talents.

There exist admission rules at Sri Vidya College of Engineering and Technology and they are fair since they were developed to give all candidates equal attention. The admission criteria of a specific university for a particular course is as follows: In general, undergraduate engineering program admission criteria include performance in a specific entrance test and academic background. This admission procedure is followed by SVCET for admission in the MBA programme. It is compulsory for the aspirants to sit for the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test, which is TANCET, and admission is offered through counselling that takes place of TANCET ranks. This makes it possible for only the most qualified individuals to get an opportunity in the programme. 

The college also has valid gate scores for admissions taken from the Common Engineering Entrance Test and Admission (CEETA-PG) to some postgraduate courses. Unfortunately, information concerning scholarships that are offered at the college cannot be determined; however, the college must have different ways of sponsoring students.
