The Sridevi Women’s Engineering College (SWEC) was started in the year 2001 and it is private college for women engineers in Hyderabad, Telangana. Recognised by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, SWEC is recognised as an AICTE institution and NAAC accredited. The college occupies a large area of land of 25 acres and provides a rich selection of undergraduate as well as postgraduate degree programmes for students. SWEC has only 2,286 students in total enrolment and a faculty of 163; it offers the right learning context for female engineering students. It has in its kitty 8 courses spread over two degrees, majoring in different branches of engineering and management schooling.

SWEC is dedicated to deliver and maintain the best of equipment to facilitate learning for the students. The college contains the centrally administered central library, which has a carpet area of 1500 sq. m. and is copiously stocked with books, journals & many more. The library remains open from 9: That operates from 20 AM to 4 PM throughout the working week from Monday to Friday conducive for studying and research, respectively. The college also features state-of-the-art laboratories for practical skills, a computer centre with one hundred working stations and Internet connection. For the growth of students in cofursports facilities, an adequately equipped gym and auditorium with seating capacity of 800 are also available. The facility also comprises of a cafeteria, sick bay with an onsite twenty-four-hour Ambulance service and quality hostel facilities for out station students.

With reference to its academic programmes, SWEC offers a full package of undergraduate engineering programmes. The college has the following B.Tech courses: Electronics and Communication Engineering Computer Science and Engineering Information technology Electrical and Electronics Engineering Artificial intelligence and machine learning Data Science. Also, there is an MBA programme for those intending to pursue management studies in SWEC. The overall admission ceiling for these courses is 1,050 students, of which the largest number of seats is available for B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering and CS&E-240 each. All the courses offered by the university are full-time programmes so that the students can remain engaged and focused in their courses.

SWEC admission procedure is competitive and administered through common entrance and the candidate must also meet merit scores. For B.Tech, the admissions are only available through the entrance exam known as Telangana State Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET) conducted by the Government of Telangana. Admission to MBA courses is through TSICET (Telangana State Integrated Common Entrance Test). The college allots seats based on the Counselling process, which is followed in the state government. Other than the above, the institution also provides scholarship programme to deserving students, whereby numerous students claimed for reimbursement. In the academic year 2023 financial details, 2,188 out of 2,292 undergraduate students and 6 out of 74 postgraduate students were reimbursed, which speaks about the college’s aim in providing deserving students.

SWEC is very proud of the student diversity that the campus supports; 30% of the students are from other states, thereby encouraging cultural interchange. The college places great emphasis on training and placements and contains a separate department called Training and Placement Cell, which prepares workshops, soft skills development programmes, campus interviews etc. Even student placements are testimony to its commitment to the students, as the NIRF report 2024 confirms that 465 students from the B.Tech programme got placements in the last academic year.
